Aims & Scope
Aims
SIGn Journal of Political Science aims to provide a scholarly platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and professionals to examine contemporary political phenomena, develop theoretical and empirical knowledge, and contribute to the advancement of political science at national, regional, and global levels.
The journal seeks to strengthen political science scholarship in Indonesia while facilitating scholarly engagement with regional and global developments, including transformations in political institutions, governance, democracy, political participation, representation, public opinion, political communication, security, international relations, political economy, identity, environmental politics, and digital politics. It welcomes manuscripts employing diverse theoretical perspectives, research designs, and methodological approaches, provided that they meet scientific standards and demonstrate a substantive contribution to understanding political processes, institutions, behavior, ideas, and power relations.
SIGn Journal of Political Science publishes scientific articles in English to broaden access to readers and contributors worldwide. Editorial consideration is primarily based on the accuracy and reliability of the data and evidence, the appropriateness of the theoretical and methodological approach, the objectivity and coherence of the analysis, the relevance of the political issue examined, and the significance and originality of the contribution presented by the authors.

The journal particularly welcomes research that connects political ideas, institutions, organizations, behavior, participation, governance, political economy, international relations, security, identity, communication, technology, and environmental change in explaining contemporary political phenomena. Interdisciplinary studies involving economics, sociology, communication, law, technology, environment, history, psychology, or related disciplines are welcomed when political processes, power relations, institutions, political behavior, or governance constitute substantive components of the research problem, theoretical or conceptual framework, analysis, and scholarly contribution.
Manuscripts should demonstrate a clear relationship between the political problem or research question, theoretical or conceptual framework, methodology, data or evidence examined, findings or analysis, and the scholarly contribution claimed by the authors. Studies that primarily address another discipline without substantive engagement with politics, political institutions, political behavior, power, governance, representation, public decision-making, or international political relations fall outside the journal’s principal scope and may be declined during the initial editorial screening.
