Aims & Scope

Aims

SIGn Jurnal Hukum aims to provide a scholarly platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, and legal professionals to examine contemporary legal issues, develop legal scholarship, and contribute to the advancement of legal knowledge, institutions, and practice at national, regional, and global levels.

The journal seeks to strengthen legal scholarship in Indonesia while facilitating scholarly engagement with regional and global legal developments, including transformations in public and private law, justice systems, human rights, economic activity, environmental governance, technological innovation, and transnational legal relations. It welcomes doctrinal, normative, conceptual, comparative, empirical, socio-legal, and interdisciplinary research, provided that the methodology is appropriate to the legal problem examined and the manuscript demonstrates a substantive contribution to legal knowledge or practice.

SIGn Jurnal Hukum publishes scholarly articles in English to broaden access to readers and contributors worldwide. Editorial consideration is primarily based on the reliability and accuracy of legal authorities, data, or other evidence examined; the appropriateness of the theoretical, conceptual, and methodological approach; the rigor, objectivity, and coherence of the legal analysis; the relevance of the legal issue examined; and the significance and originality of the contribution presented by the authors.

The journal particularly welcomes research that examines the development, interpretation, implementation, enforcement, and transformation of law across doctrinal, institutional, social, economic, technological, environmental, comparative, and transnational contexts. Interdisciplinary studies involving politics, economics, technology, health, environment, sociology, religion, or other related fields are welcomed when the legal problem, legal framework, legal materials, legal reasoning, and contribution to legal scholarship remain substantive components of the research.

Manuscripts should demonstrate a clear relationship between the legal problem or research question, relevant legal authorities or other evidence, theoretical or conceptual framework, methodology, analysis, and the scholarly contribution claimed by the authors. Studies that primarily address another discipline without substantive engagement with law, legal doctrine, legal institutions, regulation, legal processes, or legal consequences fall outside the journal’s principal scope and may be declined during the initial editorial screening.
