Aims

SIGn Journal of Dedication and Empowerment aims to provide a scholarly platform for academics, researchers, practitioners, community organizations, and professionals to examine contemporary issues in community empowerment, community engagement, and community-based development, develop theoretical and applied knowledge, and contribute to strengthening community capacity, participation, resilience, and well-being at local, national, regional, and global levels.

The journal seeks to facilitate scholarly discussion on the design, implementation, evaluation, and sustainability of community empowerment initiatives while contributing to the expansion of Indonesian discourse on community empowerment and its engagement with broader regional and global developments. It welcomes manuscripts employing diverse research methodologies and participatory approaches, provided that they meet scientific standards, address relevant community needs or challenges, and demonstrate a substantive contribution to community capacity, autonomy, participation, or sustainable development.

SIGn Journal of Dedication and Empowerment publishes scientific articles in English to broaden access to readers and contributors worldwide. Editorial consideration is primarily based on the accuracy and reliability of the data and results, the appropriateness of the methodology or empowerment approach, the objectivity and coherence of the analysis, the relevance of the community issue addressed, and the significance and sustainability of the contribution presented by the authors.

The journal particularly welcomes interdisciplinary and community-engaged research that connects social, cultural, economic, environmental, legal, political, health, educational, or technological dimensions with processes of community empowerment. Studies from related disciplines are welcomed when community participation, capacity building, autonomy, resilience, or measurable community benefit constitutes a substantive component of the research problem, intervention, analysis, and scholarly contribution.

Manuscripts should demonstrate a clear relationship between the identified community issue or need, theoretical or conceptual framework, methodology or empowerment approach, community participation, data or evidence, results or analysis, and the scholarly or practical contribution claimed by the authors. Studies that primarily address a disciplinary issue without a substantive community empowerment or community engagement dimension fall outside the journal’s principal scope and may be declined during the initial editorial screening.
