About the Journal
SIGn Journal of Science and Education is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by CV. Social Politic Genius (SIGn). The journal publishes original research and scholarly analyses in mathematics and science education and welcomes theoretical, empirical, quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, design-based, classroom-based, and interdisciplinary contributions addressing curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, literacy and reasoning, teacher education, STEM education, educational technology, and other contemporary developments in mathematics and science education.
The journal places substantive quality, methodological consistency, academic integrity, accuracy and traceability of data and evidence, and editorial transparency at the core of its scholarly publication process.
Journal Identity and Publisher
SIGn Journal of Science and Education is published by CV. Social Politic Genius (SIGn) as a medium for scholarly communication and dissemination in mathematics and science education.
The journal considers articles that demonstrate relevance to its scholarly scope, clarity of the educational problem or research objective, novelty, scholarly contribution, and consistency among the theoretical or conceptual framework, methodology, learning or educational context, data or evidence, analysis, and conclusions.
Information on the journal's editorial structure is available on the Editorial Team page, while information on reviewers is available on the Reviewer Team page.
Scholarly Scope and Academic Orientation
The journal is oriented toward advancing mathematics and science education through theoretical, empirical, quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, design-based, classroom-based, and interdisciplinary approaches. Articles may examine mathematics education, biology education, physics education, chemistry education, curriculum development, teaching and learning strategies, inquiry-based and problem- or project-based learning, laboratory and practical learning, mathematical and scientific literacy, reasoning, problem solving, assessment, teacher education, pedagogical content knowledge, integrated STEM education, digital learning, simulations, virtual laboratories, computational thinking, and artificial intelligence in mathematics and science education.
Research involving technology, psychology, curriculum studies, assessment, teacher development, or other related fields is considered when mathematics or science education remains substantive in the research problem, theoretical or conceptual framework, learning context, analysis, and scholarly contribution. Studies focused primarily on general education, educational administration, non-mathematics or non-science education, or pure mathematics and natural sciences without a substantive educational dimension fall outside the journal's principal orientation.
The journal's scholarly orientation, disciplinary boundaries, and areas of study are presented in greater detail in Aims & Scope.
