About the Journal
SIGn Journal of Civil and Architecture is a peer-reviewed, open-access scholarly journal published by CV. Social Politic Genius (SIGn). The journal publishes original research and scholarly analyses in civil engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and the built environment and welcomes experimental, analytical, computational, field-based, design-oriented, quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and interdisciplinary contributions addressing structures, geotechnics, construction, water resources, environmental engineering, transportation, digital infrastructure, architectural design, building science, and other contemporary developments in civil engineering and architecture.
The journal places substantive quality, methodological consistency, academic integrity, accuracy and traceability of data and evidence, and editorial transparency at the core of its scholarly publication process.
Journal Identity and Publisher
SIGn Journal of Civil and Architecture is published by CV. Social Politic Genius (SIGn) as a medium for scholarly communication and dissemination in civil engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and the built environment.
The journal considers articles that demonstrate relevance to its scholarly scope, clarity of the engineering, architectural, infrastructure, or built-environment problem or research objective, novelty, scholarly contribution, and consistency among the theoretical or technical foundation, methodology, data or evidence, analysis, and conclusions.
Information on the journal's editorial structure is available on the Editorial Team page, while information on reviewers is available on the Reviewer Team page.
Scholarly Scope and Academic Orientation
The journal is oriented toward advancing civil engineering, architecture, infrastructure, and built-environment scholarship through experimental, analytical, computational, field-based, design-oriented, quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, and interdisciplinary approaches. Articles may examine structural engineering and building structures; geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering; construction engineering and management; hydrology, hydraulics, and water resources; environmental and sustainable civil engineering; transportation and infrastructure systems; digital civil engineering and smart infrastructure; and architecture, building science, and the built environment.
Research involving materials science, environmental science, information technology, geospatial analysis, urban studies, management, sustainability, or other related fields is considered when civil engineering, architecture, infrastructure systems, buildings, construction, or the built environment remain substantive components of the research problem, methodology or design approach, analysis, and scholarly contribution.
The journal's scholarly orientation, disciplinary boundaries, and areas of study are presented in greater detail in Aims & Scope.
Publication Profile
SIGn Journal of Civil and Architecture publishes two issues per year, covering the following publication periods:
- January–June; and
- July–December.
Articles are published after completing the applicable stages of editorial screening, peer review, revision, editorial decision, copyediting, proofreading, translation, production, and publication finalization.
The submission and publication stages are described further in Submission & Publication Procedure.
Information on charges applicable to article processing and publication is provided on the Article Processing Charge page.
Editorial and Peer Review Model
Manuscripts that meet the initial requirements undergo scholarly evaluation through double-blind peer review. The identities of authors and reviewers are not disclosed to one another during the review process.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript's civil engineering, architectural, infrastructure, or built-environment substance, theoretical or technical foundation, methodology or design approach, scholarly contribution, consistency of analysis and argumentation, use of data or other evidence, and quality of presentation. Review results form part of the editor's consideration in determining appropriate editorial actions and decisions.
The review mechanism is described in Peer Review Process, while reviewer responsibilities are set out in Reviewer Guidelines.
